FootSLAM meets Adaptive Thresholding [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2020
Calibration of the zero-velocity detection threshold is an essential prerequisite for zero-velocity-aided inertial navigation. However, the literature is lacking a self-contained calibration method, suitable for large-scale use in unprepared environments without map information or pre-deployed infrastructure.

An Adaptive Autogram Approach Based on a CFAR Detector for Incipient Cavitation Detection

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Cavitation failure often occurs in centrifugal pumps, resulting in severe harm to their performance and life-span. Nowadays, it has become crucial to detect incipient cavitation ahead of cavitation failure.

Adaptive thresholding by variational method [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1998
When using thresholding method to segment an image, a fixed threshold is not suitable if the background is uneven. Here, we propose a new adaptive thresholding method using variational theory. The method requires only one parameter to be selected and the adaptive threshold surface can be found automatically from the original image.

An Adaptive Method for Gait Event Detection of Gait Rehabilitation Robots

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics, 2020
Accurate gait event detection is necessary for control strategies of gait rehabilitation robots. However, due to personal diversity between individuals, it is a challenge for robots to detect a gait event at various stride frequencies.

VLSI Implementation of QRS Complex Detector Based on Wavelet Decomposition

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This paper presents a very large–scale integration chip for a novel discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based QRS complex detection algorithm. In many aspects of electrocardiogram (ECG) analyses, QRS complex detection is the first step.

Adaptive spatial mode of space-time and spacefrequency OFDM system over fading channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we present a 2 transmit 1 receive (1 Tx : 1 Rx) adaptive spatial mode (ASM) of space-time (ST) and space-frequency (SF) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). At low signal to noise ratio (SNR) we employ ST-OFDM and switch to

Adaptive R-Peak Detection Algorithm Based on Brown Exponential Smoothing Model

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
ECG is one of the most effective medical tests for heart disease diagnosis, and R-peak detection is the first step in ECG interpretation. For wearable ECG signals, the difficulty of R-peak detection mainly lies in the interference of dynamic strong noise,
