Modal Analysis of 15 MW Semi-Submersible Floating Wind Turbine: Investigation on the Main Influences in Natural Vibration

open access: yesWind, 2023
One of the sources of sustainable energy with great, still untapped potential is wind power. One way to harness such potential is to develop technology for offshore use, more specifically at high depths with floating turbines.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Hydrodynamic Behavior of a Submerged Spheroid in Close Proximity to the Sea Surface

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The principal objective of this investigation is to assess the hydrodynamic characteristics and the exciting forces induced by waves acting upon a shallowly submerged spheroid.

Numerical Modelling for Synthetic Fibre Mooring Lines Taking Elongation and Contraction into Account

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Synthetic fibre mooring lines are used as an alternative to traditional steel wire ropes due to their higher strength to weight ratio. Benefits are also found in relative ease of handling, and therefore the marine industry has largely accepted this type ...

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas in Children and Adolescents: Expert Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPN) is a rare low‐grade malignant exocrine pancreatic tumor, mostly discovered during the second decade of life in females, with a very good prognosis, provided microscopically complete surgical excision is achieved.

Time machines and AdS solitons with negative mass [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2017
We show that in D=2n+1 dimensions, when mass is negative and all angular momenta are non-vanishing, Kerr and Kerr-AdS metrics describe smooth time machines, with no curvature singularity. Turning off the angular momenta appropriately can lead to static AdS solitons with negative mass.

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

Determination of Added-Mass Coefficients in Eccentrically Confined Square Cylinders Using Deforming-Mesh and Immersed-Boundary Methods

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Accurate prediction of hydrodynamic forces on confined oscillating structures is essential in applications related to nuclear engineering, energy systems, offshore devices, and mechanical components subjected to flow-induced vibrations. In this work, two

Early Body Mass Index z‐Score Change and Resolution of Severe Malnutrition in Children With Sickle Cell Anemia in a Low‐Income Setting: A Prospective Single‐Arm Extension Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell anemia (SCA) in low‐income settings are at risk of severe malnutrition, but optimal nutritional management has not been established. We evaluated an intensified ready‐to‐use therapeutic food (RUTF) regimen in children with persistent severe malnutrition after initial treatment and assessed whether early ...

Adding a point mass to a spherical stellar system [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1984
On montre que la lente accumulation de la masse au centre d'un systeme stellaire sans collisions renforce les composantes tangentielles de la dispersion des vitesses plus que la composante ...
