Prominent Movement Disorders in RNU2‐2‐Related Spliceosomopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric movement disorders often overlap with neurodevelopmental diseases, suggesting shared molecular mechanisms. Variants in small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes encoding spliceosome components have recently been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, termed “RNUopathies.” We analyzed genome sequencing data from 14 patients with ...

Keel Influence on the Added Wave Resistance for Yachts

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Naval Architects of Japan, 1999
Sailing yachts has been experienced extensively in the past years, generating very fast yachts. However, the search for speed has lead to very similar boats, with similar performance and, frequently, with poor behavior in rough water. The study of performance of sailing yacht in waves, experienced in heeled and yawed condition has been conducted, as ...

The impact of variation in added resistance computations on voyage performance prediction

open access: yes, 2020
Prediction of added resistance of a ship in waves is essential to evaluate vessel performance in a seaway. Also, added resistance in waves increases the fuel consumption. Today different methods are used to predict the added resistance of a ship in waves.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

A RANS Modelling Approach for Predicting Powering Performance of Ships in Waves

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a modelling technique for simulating selfpropelled ships in waves is presented. The flow is modelledusing a RANS solver coupled with an actuator diskmodel for the propeller.

Assessment of added resistance estimates based on monitoring data from a fleet of container vessels

open access: yes, 2023
A practical estimation methodology of the mean added resistance in irregular waves is shown, and the present paper provides statistical analyses of estimates for ships in actual conditions.

Effects of diffraction in regular head waves on added resistance and wake using CFD

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2019
This paper employs computational tools to investigate the diffraction effects in regular head waves on the added resistance and wake on the propeller plane. The objective ships are a 66,000 DWT bulk carrier and a 3,600 TEU container ship.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
