Application of the Design of Experiments and Computational Fluid Dynamics to Bow Design Improvement
Techniques of the design of experiments (DOE) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) were applied for improving the bow shape of a tanker hull. Through this, a hull that could reduce the added resistance in waves was derived.

CFD verification and validation of added resistance in oblique waves
Today, almost all ship hulls are optimized to sail in calm water. In a realistic seagoing condition, the ship will be exposed to added resistance caused by the waves, which will influence the ships performance and fuel consumption.

Added Resistance in Oblique Waves on a Container Ship Using CFD
The importance of CFD is increasing in marine hydrodynamics in studying seakeeping and added resistance of ships. While extensive numerical studies have been reported for various ships in head seas in the literature, much fewer CFD studies are found for ...

Experimental and Numerical Resistance Analysis for a Cruise Ship W/O Fin Stabilizers
Applying fin stabilizers is an effective solution for ship rolls on waves in a seaway. They generally consist of one or two pairs of retractable fins that are symmetrically mounted to both sides of the ship, effectively reducing the roll motion at low or

ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

The KVLCC2 and its modified hull form were investigated in regular head waves using Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier–Stokes (URANS) methods. The modified KVLCC2 (named KWP-bow KVLCC2) is designed for reducing wave reflection from the bow.

Research on the Hydrodynamic Performance of a Pentamaran in Calm Water and Regular Waves
As a typical multi-hull ship, the pentamaran has a wider deck, higher damage stability, and low-speed seaworthiness in harsh sea conditions compared with other multi-hull types such as the catamaran and trimaran, having more potential for becoming a new ...

Comparison of added resistance methods using digital twin and full-scale data
In this paper, full-scale data for two ships have been used for the comparison of five different added resistance methods. The effect of using separate wave spectra for wind waves and swell on performance prediction has been explored.
