Considerations When Learning Additive Explanations for Black-Box Models [PDF]
Many methods to explain black-box models, whether local or global, are additive. In this paper, we study global additive explanations for non-additive models, focusing on four explanation methods: partial dependence, Shapley explanations adapted to a global setting, distilled additive explanations, and gradient-based explanations.

Adelman's Abelianisation of an Additive Category [PDF]
This Bachelor's thesis studies Adelman's construction of the universal abelian category of an additive category. It furthermore extends the construction such that it also applies to transformations between additive functors.

Vector Addition System Reversible Reachability Problem
The reachability problem for vector addition systems is a central problem of net theory. This problem is known to be decidable but the complexity is still unknown. Whereas the problem is EXPSPACE-hard, no elementary upper bounds complexity are known.

The quantum integer $[n]_q$ is the polynomial $1 + q + q^2 + ... + q^{n-1}.$ Two sequences of polynomials $\mathcal{U} = \{u_n(q)\}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ and $\mathcal{V} = \{v_n(q)\}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ define a {\em linear addition rule} $\oplus$ on a sequence $\

On additive and multiplicative arithmetical functions [PDF]
A characterization of multiplicative (and additive) arithmetical functions is given. Using this characterization, we show that the group of multiplicative arithmetical functions is isomorphic to the group of additive arithmetical functions.

Addition theorems and the Drach superintegrable systems
We propose new construction of the polynomial integrals of motion related to the addition theorems. As an example we reconstruct Drach systems and get some new two-dimensional superintegrable Stackel systems with third, fifth and seventh order integrals ...

Nongeneralizability of Tsallis Entropy by means of Kolmogorov-Nagumo averages under pseudo-additivity [PDF]
As additivity is a characteristic property of the classical information measure, Shannon entropy, pseudo-additivity is a characteristic property of Tsallis entropy. Renyi generalized Shannon entropy by means of Kolmogorov-Nagumo averages, by imposing additivity as a constraint. In this paper we show that there exists no generalization for Tsallis ...

Addition Theorems Via Continued Fractions [PDF]
We show connections between a special type of addition formulas and a theorem of Stieltjes and Rogers. We use different techniques to derive the desirable addition formulas. We apply our approach to derive special addition theorems for Bessel functions and confluent hypergeometric functions.

Law of addition in random matrix theory
We discuss the problem of adding random matrices, which enable us to study Hamiltonians consisting of a deterministic term plus a random term. Using a diagrammatic approach and introducing the concept of ``gluon connectedness," we calculate the density ...
