Addressing the inverse care law: the role of community paediatric services
Perspectives in Public Health, 2014Background: Children’s health suffers disproportionately from the effects of poverty. The inverse care law states that those who need care the most are the least likely to receive it. Community paediatricians are well placed to address health inequalities in children.

Addressing The Inverse Problem of Imaging With ‘Heavy Atom’ Optics
Frontiers in Optics 2012/Laser Science XXVIII, 2012A solution for inverse problems in imaging is experimentally demonstrated using a nanoscopically controllable delta function reference source to solve the phase problem of far-field imaging exactly with super-resolution potential.

Inverse Design Photon Extractors for Optically Addressable Defect Qubits
Frontiers in Optics / Laser Science, 2020Photon collection presents a major challenge for optically addressable defects in high index materials like diamond. We demonstrate an inverse-design planar dielectric photon extractor operating near the theoretical limit for NV centers in diamond.

The intrinsically non-Gaussian statistics of nonlinear inverse problems, including ocean geoacoustic problems, is explored via analytic rather than numerical means. While Monte Carlo Bayesian methods do address the non-Gaussian statistics in nonlinear inverse problems, they can be very slow, and intuitive interpretation of the results are at times ...

Addressing an inverse problem of classifier size distributions
Powder Technology, 2007One input and two output stream classifiers are commercially employed for the classification of particles. A mass balance equation for a classifier suggests that the feed size distribution can be evaluated from measured product size distributions if and only if the flow split of the feed particles to one of the product streams is also known.

Addressing non‐uniqueness in linearized multichannel surface wave inversion
Geophysical Prospecting, 2008ABSTRACTThe multichannel analysis of the surface waves method is based on the inversion of observed Rayleigh‐wave phase‐velocity dispersion curves to estimate the shear‐wave velocity profile of the site under investigation. This inverse problem is nonlinear and it is often solved using ‘local’ or linearized inversion strategies.

4D FWI: Strategies for addressing the inversion noise
The Leading EdgeAbstract 4D full-waveform inversion (FWI) is increasingly being used for time-lapse data processing. It provides two main advantages. First, the enhancement in image quality that FWI offers compared to traditional imaging methods is significant, particularly in regions with complex overburden and poor illumination. Second, traditional
