Highly efficient Bayesian joint inversion for receiver-based data and its application to lithospheric structure beneath the southern Korean Peninsula [PDF]
With the deployment of extensive seismic arrays, systematic and efficient parameter and uncertainty estimation is of increasing importance and can provide reliable, regional models for crustal and upper-mantle structure. We present an efficient Bayesian ...

Pumping of the 4.8 GHz H$_{\text{2}}$CO masers and its implications for the periodic masers in G37.55+0.20 [PDF]
Periodic or regular flaring of class II methanol masers in nine high mass star forming regions is now a well established phenomenon. Amongst the nine star forming regions, G37.55+0.20 is the only case at present where apart from the presence of a ...

Addressing viscous effects in acoustic full-waveform inversion
In conventional full-waveform inversion (FWI), viscous effects are typically neglected, and this is likely to adversely affect the recovery of P-wave velocity. We have developed a strategy to mitigate viscous effects based on the use of matching filters with the aim of improving the performance of acoustic FWI.

Superbroadcasting and classical information [PDF]
We address the problem of broadcasting N copies of a generic qubit state to M>N copies by estimating its direction and preparing a suitable output state according to the outcome of the estimate.

A multiscattering series for impedance tomography in layered media [PDF]
We introduce an inversion algorithm for tomographic images of layered media. The algorithm is based on a multiscattering series expansion of the Green function that, unlike the Born series, converges unconditionally.
