Enhanced heat stability and antioxidant activity of myofibrillar protein-dextran conjugate by the covalent adduction of polyphenols.

Food Chemistry, 2021
In the present study, three types of polyphenols, namely, (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), catechin (C), and gallic acid (GA), were grafted to myofibrillar protein (MP)-dextran (DX) conjugate through a free radical-mediated adduction method.

Reliability and validity of common hip adduction strength measures: The ForceFrame strength testing system versus the sphygmomanometer.

Physical Therapy in Sport, 2022
OBJECTIVES The criterion validity of the sphygmomanometer was evaluated, relative to the Force Frame strength testing system. Test-retest reliability was assessed for both hip adduction and abduction strength.

Copenhagen adduction exercise can increase eccentric strength and mitigate the risk of groin problems: but how much is enough!

British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2021
Low eccentric hip adduction strength increases the risk of hip adductor injury in football and ice hockey, 2 emphasising the role of implementing strategies to target this. The Copenhagen Adduction exercise (video: www. youtube. com/ watch?

How Foot Progression Angle Affects Knee Adduction Moment and Angular Impulse in Patients With and Without Medial Knee Osteoarthritis: A Meta‐Analysis

Arthritis care & research, 2020
To investigate effects of foot progression angle (FPA) modification on the first and second peaks of external knee adduction moment (EKAM) and knee adduction angular impulse (KAAI) in individuals with and without medial knee osteoarthritis (OA) during ...

Carbene−Pnictinidene Adducts

Inorganic Chemistry, 1997
The syntheses, characterizations, and X-ray crystallographic structure determinations are described for adducts of stable nucleophilic carbenes with pnictinidenes. The adducts between 1,3-dimesitylimidazol-2-ylidene and phenylphosphinidene, phenylarsinidene, (trifluoromethyl)phosphinidene, and (pentafluorophenyl)arsinidene are reported.

Adducted thumb syndromes

Clinical Genetics, 1975
The adducted thumbs syndrome is characterized by cleft palate, microcephaly, and dys‐myelination. A fifth case of this syndrome is presented. Several other syndromes which may present with adducted thumbs are reviewed and re‐assessed. The original contributions consist of discussions of (1) the possible pathogenesis of adducted thumbs in the congenital

Catechol estrogen adducts

Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1988
Reaction of estrone-3,4-o-quinone with ethanethiol and glutathione leads to the formation of 4-hydroxyestrone-2-thioethers. Incubations of [1-3H]hydroxyestrone with rat liver microsomes and NADPH in the presence of glutathione results in the formation of 4-hydroxyestrone-S-glutathione with no release of tritium in the water indicating GSH addition to C-

Sling arytenoid adduction

European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2011
The purpose of this study was to describe a simplified arytenoid rotation technique and to test its applicability in excised human larynges. A non-absorbable monofilament thread is slung around the muscular process of the arytenoid cartilage through an external approach.
