How do forelimb long bones adapt in rhinoceroses? An in‐depth examination of their microanatomy

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Here, we study the bone structure in the forelimb long bones of the five extant species of rhinoceroses. By combining traditional description of virtual sections made on the bones (A) with in‐depth cartographies of the variation of bone compactness and anisotropy (B), we show how bone tissue can adapt to extreme forces and constraints in the second ...

Is continuous catheter adductor canal block better than single-shot canal adductor canal block in primary total knee arthroplasty?

open access: yesMedicine, 2020
Abstract Background: The adductor canal block (ACB) has emerged as an alternative to the femoral nerve block (FNB) after total knee arthroplasty. This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate which ACB method provides better pain relief and functional recovery after total knee arthroplasty

Cumulative effects of lifelong systemic excess growth hormone on postcranial skeletal morphology in adult mice

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Our μCT‐based pilot study reveals size and shape disparity in the adult postcranial skeleton of growth‐hormone model (bGH) mice relative to wild‐type mice. bGH mice have larger and more sexually dimorphic bones, with a systemic radiodensity increase in bony sesamoids and associated, but typically uncalcified, soft tissues.

Description of the skull, braincase, and dentition of Moschognathus whaitsi (Dinocephalia, Tapinocephalia), and its palaeobiological and behavioral implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 7, Page 1713-1748, July 2026.
Abstract A subadult Moschognathus whaitsi from the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, was scanned using synchrotron radiation X‐ray computed tomography (SRXCT). Its subadult state allowed the cranial bones and teeth to be identified and individually reconstructed in 3D.

Surgeon-administered ultrasound-guided combined popliteal sciatic nerve and adductor canal block in fixation of trimalleolar fracture

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation
Introduction: Combined popliteal sciatic nerve and adductor canal block under ultrasound guidance has been described as a safe and effective mean of regional anesthesia for foot and ankle surgery.

Revisiting a long‐overlooked skull: Implications for the distribution of Dinodontosaurus brevirostris (Kannemeyeriiformes) in the Brazilian Triassic

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 7, Page 1749-1765, July 2026.
Abstract Dicynodonts (Anomodontia: Dicynodontia) were one of the main groups of terrestrial tetrapods in Permian and Triassic faunas. In Brazil, the genus Dinodontosaurus is one of the most common tetrapod taxon in the Triassic Santa Maria Supersequence. This genus has a complex taxonomic history and is represented in the Triassic of both Argentina and

Ultrasound-guided adductor canal block versus femoral nerve block for arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament repair under general anesthesia

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2018
Background and Aims: Adductor canal block (ACB) is now an established component of multimodal analgesia for knee replacement surgery and is slowly replacing femoral nerve block (FNB).

Continuous Intra-articular Analgesic Injection Versus Continuous Adductor Canal Block in Postoperative Total Knee Arthroplasty

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2020
Continuous adductor canal block (CACB) provides effective analgesia after TKA but this technique requires skill of anesthesiologists and equipment such as ultrasonography. A new technique, continuous intra-articular analgesia injection (CIA) is developed
