Calhm6 Governs Macrophage Polarization Through Chp1‐Camk4‐Creb1 Axis and Ectosomal Delivery in Inflammatory Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Calhm6 drives M2 macrophage polarization via the Chp1‐Camk4‐Creb1 axis, suppressing inflammation through calcium‐dependent ectosomal delivery. Calhm6 deficiency enhances M1 responses, boosting bactericidal activity but exacerbating tissue damage. LPS/IFNγ upregulate Calhm6 via Irf1, while IL‐4/Stat6 inhibits it, balancing immune outcomes.

Applications of adenine nucleotide measurements in oceanography [PDF]

open access: yes
The methodology involved in nucleotide measurements is outlined, along with data to support the premise that ATP concentrations in microbial cells can be extrapolated to biomass parameters. ATP concentrations in microorganisms and nucleotide analyses are

FOXQ1 Regulates Brain Endothelial Mitochondrial Function by Orchestrating Calcium Signaling and Cristae Morphology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOXQ1 emerges as a master transcriptional regulator of brain endothelial metabolism, orchestrating mitochondrial function through dual control of calcium signaling and cristae organization. This study reveals that brain endothelial cells rely on oxidative phosphorylation rather than glycolysis alone, challenging the current metabolic paradigm and ...

Chloroplast Fibrillin‐Mediated α‐Tocopherol Biosynthesis Impaired by a Virus to Enhance Infection and to Improve Drought Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ToCV‐encoded p22 targets chloroplast plastoglobules (PGs) via directly binding PG structural protein FBN1.1, reducing the size of PG and inhibiting α‐tocopherol biosynthesis via competing with tocopherol cyclase (VTE1). Consequently, the elevated chloroplast ROS not only creates a suitable cellular environment for efficient ToCV infection but also ...

Honeysuckle‐Derived Nanovesicles Regulate Gut Microbiota for the Treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores honeysuckle‐derived nanovesicles (HNVs) for treating inflammatory bowel disease. Orally administered HNVs alleviates colitis in mice by repairing the gut barrier, reducing inflammation, and restoring a healthy gut microbiota.

Brain injury alters ectonucleotidase activities and adenine nucleotide levels in rat serum [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2015
Background: Cortical stab injury (CSI) induces changes in the activity, expression and cellular distribution of specific ectonucleotidases at the injury site.

Confocal Absorbance‐Activated Droplet Sorting (cAADS) for Enzyme Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A custom confocal absorbance‐activated droplet sorting (cAADS) platform is presented, which confines illumination and detection to a small area on the “droplet plane”, enabling enhanced sensitivity at ultrahigh throughput. System performances and versatility are demonstrated by screening Bilirubin Oxidase encapsulated in 10 pL droplets at 5.4 kHz ...

Allosteric regulation accompanied by oligomeric state changes of Trypanosoma brucei GMP reductase through cystathionine-β-synthase domain

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Trypanosoma brucei guanosine 5′-monophosphate reductase (TbGMPR) catalyses the conversion of GMP to inosine 5′-monophosphate and contains a cystathionine-β-synthase (CBS) domain. Here the authors combine X-ray crystallography and kinetic measurements and

MicroRNA‐Enriched Plant‐Derived Exosomes Alleviate Colitis by Modulating Systemic Immunity, Metabolic Homeostasis, and Gut Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herbal medicine, with its multicomponent and multitarget potential, is often studied primarily for traditional forms, especially phytochemicals. Currently, ulcerative colitis lacks natural, low‐toxicity therapies, yet emerging research highlights plant‐derived exosomes as a promising option.
