Adenine Nucleotide Degradation in Striated Muscle
International Journal of Sports Medicine, 1990Adenine nucleotides play a central role in cellular processes involving the transduction of energy. Among striated muscles, the management of adenine nucleotide catabolism differs greatly. These differences can be understood by considering the distribution, activity, and kinetic characteristics of degradative enzymes.

K channel interaction with adenine nucleotides
Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, 2005ATP-sensitive potassium (K(ATP)) channels are regulated by adenine nucleotides to convert changes in cellular metabolic levels into membrane excitability. Hence, elucidation of interaction of SUR and Kir6.x with adenine nucleotides is an important issue to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying the metabolic regulation of the K(ATP) channels ...

Adenine nucleotide translocation in cauliflower mitochondria
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1976Abstract The exchange of adenine nucleotides in cauliflower mitochondria was studied. Although these mitochondria translocate ADP and ATP at high rates and possess high affinity binding for the nucleotides, they differ from mammalian mitochondria with respect to the action of atractyloside. It was observed that (i) atractyloside at a concentration of

Reactions of Dysprosium with Adenine Nucleotides
Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, 1988Dysprosium catalyzes a rapid hydrolysis of both ATP and ADP, at ambient temperatures, pH 7.0, where no hydroxide precipitates. The reactive complexes, at pH 6.7, were found to contain 2Dy:1ATP and 3Dy:2ADP. AMP forms an insoluble complex containing 1Dy:2AMP, which does not hydrolyze.

Adenine nucleotides of the stria vascularis
Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 1979The levels of the adenine nucleotides ATP, ADP, and AMP in the stria vascularis were measured under normal conditions, and following various durations of ischemia. The concentrations of these compounds were used for the calculation of the adenylate energy charge, the energy status and the phosphorylation state of the stria. Following 10 min of ischemia

Blood adenine nucleotides in Down's syndrome
Blut Zeitschrift für die Gesamte Blutforschung, 1971The levels of ATP, ADP and AMP were estimated in the blood of children with trisomic Down's syndrome. A 19% decrease of the three adenine nucleotides per unit packed-cell volume was found. The significance of these data with respect to the macrocytosis found in patients with Down's syndrome is discussed.

Adenine Nucleotide Metabolism of Human Platelets
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1971SummaryAfter platelet-rich plasma was incubated with radioactive adenine, radioactive adenine nucleotides in platelets were separated by two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography.Radioactive adenine was selectively incorporated into adenine nucleotides.

Effect of adenine nucleotides on reactions involving triphosphopyridine nucleotide
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1955Oxidized TPN, and P-ADPR have been found to be competitive inhibitors of the TPNH-cytochrome c reductase of horse liver. 2′ AMP also competitively inhibits, at somewhat higher concentrations. DPN, ADPR, desamino TPN, 3′ AMP, 5′ AMP, 2′ IMP, and 3′ IMP produce very slight or no inhibition.

Adenine nucleotides in thrombocytes of birds
Cell Biochemistry and Function, 1984AbstractAnalysis of free nucleotide composition of both avian thrombocytes and pig platelets showed quantitative differences in the level of adenine nucleotides. 3H‐adenine taken up by turkey thrombocytes was metabolized mainly to adenine nucleotides was not released after thrombin action.

Extracellular Adenine Nucleotide Catabolism in Heart Valves
Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids, 2014Enzymes of extracellular nucleotide catabolism, such as ecto-nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase (eNTPD), ecto-5'-nucleotidase (e5NT) and ecto-adenosine deaminase (eADA), control extracellular concentrations of adenine nucleotides and adenosine, furthermore in that way regulate inflammation, immune response, and platelets aggregation. In valves,
