Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

A comparison of multimodal therapy and surgery for esophageal adenocarcinoma.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 1996
BACKGROUND Uncontrolled studies suggest that a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy improves the survival of patients with esophageal adenocarcinoma. We conducted a prospective, randomized trial comparing surgery alone with combined chemotherapy,

CD44v, S1PR1, HER3, MET and cancer‐associated amino acid transporters are promising targets for the pancreatic cancers characterized using mAb

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

A Case of Jejunal Adenocarcinoma Diagnosed by Preoperative Double Balloon Enteroscopy

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2009
Despite a thorough history, physical examination, and complete diagnostic workup, the correct diagnosis of small-intestinal malignancy is established preoperatively in only 50% of cases; an exploratory laparotomy is often required.

Redefining the role of radiation therapy in pancreatic cancer management: innovations and future directions: A narrative review [PDF]

open access: yesPrecision and Future Medicine
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a major health issue worldwide. Recent advances in systemic treatment are expected to break away from the long period of stagnation and improve treatment outcomes for this disease. Radiation therapy (RT), one of

The Circular RNA circPRKCI Promotes Tumor Growth in Lung Adenocarcinoma.

open access: yesCancer Research, 2018
Somatic copy number variations (CNV) may drive cancer progression through both coding and noncoding transcripts. However, noncoding transcripts resulting from CNV are largely unknown, especially for circular RNAs.

Pharmacological effects of osimertinib on a chicken chorioallantoic membrane xenograft model with the EGFR exon‐19‐deleted advanced NSCLC mutation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Osimertinib reduces angiogenesis and PDL1 expression in in ovo tumors, transforming them into ‘cold tumors’ with lower immune activity. Anatomopathological and transcriptomic analyses highlight its therapeutic impact on tumor biology. This study underscores osimertinib's potential to reshape the tumor microenvironment and provides insights into its ...

Genomic and immune profiling of pre-invasive lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Adenocarcinoma in situ and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma are the pre-invasive forms of lung adenocarcinoma. The genomic and immune profiles of these lesions are poorly understood.

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
