Molecular mechanism for transcriptional regulation of the parathyroid hormone gene by Epiprofin

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) from the chief cells in the parathyroid glands is regulated by the concentration of extracellular calcium. Epiprofin (Epfn) expression is induced by NFATc2 in response to elevated serum calcium, and Epfn negatively regulates PTH production.

Methylation analysis as a diagnostic tool for sweat gland tumours classification with emphasis on the distinction between digital papillary adenocarcinoma and mimickers

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Aims Digital papillary adenocarcinoma (DPA) is a rare sweat gland carcinoma arising on acral sites. The main differential diagnosis included tubular adenoma, hidradenoma, poroid hidradenoma, and mixed tumours, distinction between DPA and these mimickers being crucial for therapeutic management.

Stroma areactive invasion front areas (SARIFA) in 1,298 pT3/pT4 colorectal cancers: A strong prognostic parameter complementing established morphological criteria

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
SARIFA is a novel, highly prognostic, stage‐independent morphological parameter in CRC. It complements established histopathological prognostic markers and provides crucial additional prognostic information across key clinicopathological and morphological subgroups. Partially created in https://BioRender.com.

Current Evidences and Future Perspectives in the Management of Metastatic Non‐Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Renal cell carcinoma is a heterogeneous disease with diverse phenotypes. Renal cell carcinoma classification is based on morphological and molecular characteristics and falls into 2 main categories: clear cell renal cell carcinoma and non‐clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

Quality Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand: A Joint Position Statement

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quality standards for upper gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy are required to identify key quality indicators that are relevant to Australasian endoscopic practice and local patient populations. Such standards will promote equitable access to high‐quality UGI endoscopy for appropriate indications across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
