Infection and inhibition of differentiation of human fetal skeletal myoblasts by adenovirus

Virology, 1991
The effects of adenovirus type 5 infection on the differentiation of cultured human skeletal myoblasts and of myoblast differentiation on the replication of adenovirus were investigated. Although infection of myoblasts concurrently with differentiation induction was inhibitory, myoblast differentiation was not impeded when infection was carried out 2 ...

Comparison of enteric Adenovirus infection in various human cell lines

Journal of Virological Methods, 1988
Growth of the fastidious enteric adenoviruses 40 and 41 was compared in different human cell lines. Purified virions were used to infect the following cell lines: A549; KB; Chang's conjunctiva; 293; HeLa. Both types of enteric adenovirus were infectious for each cell line, with the exception of adenovirus 40 in HeLa cells.

A new technique for the assay of infectivity of human adenovirus 5 DNA

Virology, 1973
Abstract A new technique for assaying infectivity of adenovirus 5 DNA has been developed. Viral DNA was diluted in isotonic saline containing phosphate at a low concentration, and calcium chloride was added, resulting in the formation of a calcium phosphate precipitate.

Human adenovirus infection in phytohaemagglutinin treated mice.

Acta microbiologica Hungarica, 1984
The course of infection by human adenovirus type 12 has been studied in mice treated with phytohaemagglutinin (PHA) 1 day after infection or those infected with the virus 3 days after PHA treatment. Virus antigens were demonstrated by immunofluorescence in the cells of the thymus, spleen and lymph nodes and in some cases the supernatant of the cell ...

Effect of adenovirus infection on human peripheral lymphocytes.

Acta microbiologica Hungarica, 1984
The effect of adenovirus infection on human peripheral lymphocytes has been studied in vitro. Virus antigens were found to multiply in the cell cultures but no infective virus was formed. On infecting the lymphocytes after stimulation with phytohaemagglutinin, infective virus was formed though in low titre.
