Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Data parsing for optimized molecular geometry calculations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The purpose of this project is to optimize and streamline to process of using ADF and ReaxFF. There is no efficient way to effectively add constraints to a compound and run it through ADF, take the ADF output and create a file that can be run through ...

Field‐Effect Transistors from Artificial Charged Domain Walls in Stacked Van der Waals Ferroelectric α‐In2Se3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study utilizes the van der Waals stacking of ferroelectric α$\alpha$‐In2Se3 to fabricate in‐plane artificial charged domain walls. These charged domain walls are electrically accessible, gate‐tunable, and show 2–9 orders of magnitude higher conductance than charged domain walls from thin film ferroelectrics, allowing their integration in field ...

The AKARI Deep Field South: A New Home for Multiwavelength Extagalactic Astronomy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The importance of multiwavelength astronomical surveys is discussed in the context of galaxy evolution. The AKARI Deep Field South (ADF-S) is a new, well placed survey field that is already the subject of studies at a wide range of wavelengths.

Water absorption and salt attack resistance of coal ash brick made of different percentage of foam content [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Coal ash which constitute of fly ash and bottom ash were proved to be used as main component in brick production. However, published work on the coal ash brick with addition of foam in order to produce lightweight brick is still lacking. This thesis

Chemically Doped Conductive Polymers for Wearable Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Among conductive polymers, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), polyaniline (PANI), and polypyrrole (PPy) are the most studied and applied. Chemical doping significantly boosts intrinsic conductivity and mechanical robustness.

Security of internet protocol cameras - A case example [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The interaction of consumer devices and the internet, especially in relation to security, has always been tenuous. Where it is in the best interests of companies to produce products that are cheap and accessible, these traits often go against that of ...
