A Category for the Adjoint Representation
We construct an abelian category C and exact functors in C which on the Grothendieck group descend to the action of a simply-laced quantum group in its adjoint representation. The braid group action in the adjoint representation lifts to an action in the derived category of C.

Approximate symmetries of the perturbed KdV-KS equation [PDF]
The analysis of approximate symmetries in perturbed nonlinear partial differential equations $(PDEs)$ stands as a cornerstone for unraveling complex physical behaviors and solution patterns.

Exploring Free Matrix CFT Holographies at One-Loop
We extend our recent study on the duality between stringy higher spin theories and free conformal field theories (CFTs) in the S U ( N ) adjoint representation to other matrix models, namely the free S O ( N ) and S p ( N ...

Co-Adjoint representation and controllability
Let ? an invariant control system over Lie group G The existence of a nontrivial simplectic orbit of G is analysed, so that the Hamiltonian system equivalent to ? via the co-adjoint representation, has a vector called simplectic. This allows the construction of a strictly increasing function over the positive trajectories of ?, determining sufficient ...

Scientific Theories as Intervening Representations
In this paper we use some ideas of Hertz and Duhem to propose a new concept of representation that overcomes the dichotomy between representation and intervention.

On the N↔−N self-duality of su(N) theories
We generalize N↔−N duality of dimension formulae of SU(N) representations on a (class of the) representations with N-dependent Young diagrams, including adjoint representation.

Gauging 1-form center symmetries in simple SU(N) gauge theories
Consequences of gauging exact ℤ k C $$ {\mathbb{Z}}_k^C $$ center symmetries in several simple SU(N) gauge theories, where k is a divisor of N, are investigated.

Continuous energy adjoint transport for photons in PHITS
Adjoint Monte Carlo can be an effcient algorithm for solving photon transport problems where the size of the tally is relatively small compared to the source. Such problems are typical in environmental radioactivity calculations, where natural or fallout

CAD Integrated Multipoint Adjoint-Based Optimization of a Turbocharger Radial Turbine
The adjoint method is considered as the most efficient approach to compute gradients with respect to an arbitrary number of design parameters. However, one major challenge of adjoint-based shape optimization methods is the integration into a computer ...

Partition function of free conformal fields in 3-plet representation
Simplest examples of AdS/CFT duality correspond to free CFTs in d dimensions with fields in vector or adjoint representation of an internal symmetry group dual in the large N limit to a theory of massless or massless plus massive higher spins in AdS d+1.
