Early stages of tooth development in the harbor porpoise Phocoena phocoena

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Here we describe the stages of tooth development in toothed whales on the basis of the harbor porpoise (Phocoena phocoena). The aim of the study was to find out whether these stages are identical to those of other mammals analyzed so far although toothed whales are homodont and monophyodont.

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

The Dold-Kan Correspondence and Coalgebra Structures

open access: yes, 2010
Using the Dold-Kan correspondence we construct Quillen adjunctions between the model categories of simplicial coalgebras and differential graded coalgebras.

Partial Repair and Superior Capsular Reconstruction Both Improve Outcomes for Irreparable Posterosuperior Rotator Cuff Tears: A Systematic Review

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To synthesize patient‐reported outcome measures, failure rates, and mobility parameters for comparison of partial repair versus superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) in the treatment of irreparable posterosuperior rotator cuff tears. Methods EMBASE, OVID Medline, and Emcare were searched from database inception to November 2024 for studies on ...

A Stone-type duality for semilattices with adjunctions

open access: yes
This paper focuses on semilattices with adjunctions (SLatas), which are semilattices with a greatest element enriched with a pair of adjoint maps. We develop a spectral-style duality for SLatas, building on prior topological dualities for monotone ...

Adjunctions

open access: yes, 1994
We present the category-theoretic notion of adjunction in a way that makes it easy to formally calculate with it; an acquaintance with its algebraic properties may greatly help in understanding the notion. It is illustrated by means of a lot of theorems and proofs.
