Delineation of the Prostate Bed: The “Invisible Target” Is Still an Issue?

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2017
For pathological high-risk prostate cancer, adjuvant irradiation has shown a survival benefit. Phase III studies have highlighted that half men would face biochemical relapse and would be candidate for radiotherapy at adjuvant or salvage times.

Adjuvant postoperative radiotherapy for cutaneous melanoma [PDF]

open access: yesActa Oncologica, 2017
Although surgery is the mainstay of treatment for patients with cutaneous melanoma, a subset of patients present with local–regionally advanced disease and are at high risk of a local–regional recu...

Adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy for patients with breast phyllodes tumors: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
As the efficacy of radiotherapy and chemotherapy for treatment of phyllodes tumors (PTs) remains unclear, this study aimed to review all available data and evaluate the roles of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in PT treatment.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Adjuvant radiotherapy improves progression-free survival in intracranial atypical meningioma

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2019
Meningiomas are the most common primary tumors of the central nervous system. In patients with WHO grade I meningiomas no adjuvant therapy is recommended after resection.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Survival impacts of extent of resection and adjuvant radiotherapy for the modern management of high-grade meningiomas

open access: yesJournal of Neuro-Oncology, 2019
We aim to investigate the impacts of extent of resection and adjuvant radiotherapy on survival of high-grade meningiomas (WHO grade II–III) according to modern diagnosis and management.
