Mucoadhesive Tablets for Buccal Administration Containing Sodium Nimesulide

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2004
The possibility of improving the flux of nimesulide across the buccal mucosa using the drug in the form of a sodium salt was investigated in our study. The salt form may increase to flux across buccal membrane, starting from a suspension; its lower permeation coefficient is compensated by a higher concentration gradient.

Bionic Microneedle Patch Inspired by Drosophila Tarsal Paws Boosts Healing in Bacterial Infectious Stomatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microneedle suction cup patches, prepared using bionic Drosophila tarsal claws, can effectively treat bacterial infectious stomatitis by rapidly and efficiently leveraging multiple effects, including antibacterial and anti‐inflammatory properties, promotion of vasodilation, and active mechanical contraction of the wound.

Sleep Deprivation Activates a Conserved Lactate‐H3K18la‐RORα Axis Driving Neutrophilic Inflammation Across Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep deprivation triggers systemic immune activation characterized by neutrophil accumulation and cytokine release. This study reveals a conserved metabolic‒epigenetic mechanism whereby lactate‐induced H3K18 lactylation upregulates RORα expression, promoting neutrophilic inflammation.

Adipose Tissue Macrophages as Initiators of Exacerbated Periodontitis in Estrogen‐Deficient Environments via the Amplifier Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic systemic inflammation, worsened by estrogen deficiency, underlies and exacerbates periodontitis. Proinflammatory macrophages within visceral adipose tissue are hyperactivated due to hyper‐DNA methylation, releasing small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) similar to those of their parent cells.
