Abortion of early pregnancy by the intravaginal administration of prostaglandin F2α

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1973
Abstract Intravaginal prostaglandin F 2α (PGF 2α ) as an aqueous Tham salt solution was evaluated as a method for abortion of early gestations. Two drug concentrations were studied. All 4 patients treated with a 50 mg. per milliliter solution failed to abort and required dilatation and suction evacuation. Six of 8 gravidas treated with a 200 mg.

Radioimmunoassay of serum d-norgestrel in women following oral and intravaginal administration

Contraception, 1975
A radioimmunoassay (RIA) method for measuring d-Norgestrel (d-Ng) in serum has been developed utilizing petroleum ether extraction, an antiserum raised against d-Norgestrel3-(O-carboxymethyl) oxime-e-aminocaproic acid — bovine serum albumin, d-Norgestrel-3-(O-carboxymethyl) imino- [125I]-iodohistamine, and dextran-coated charcoal separation.

Mid-trimester abortion induced by intravaginal administration of prostaglandin F 2α-methylester suppositories

Contraception, 1978
Abstract Mid-trimester abortion was successfully induced in 28 of 31 patients by administration of vaginal prostaglandin F 2 α-methylester. A suppository containing 1.5 mg was given every three hours. Two of the patients who failed to abort needed a D & C after 24 and 30 hours.

Oestrous synchronisation in ethiopian highland zebu cattle by means of intravaginal cloprostenole administration

Tropical Animal Health and Production, 1996
Two series were used in studying the use of a low dose of intravaginal cloprostenole in oestrous synchronisation of zebu cows. In series I, 39 cows were given 175 mcg of cloprostenole with a plastic catheter in the anterior vagina twice, with a 12-day interval.

Medicated Tampons: Intravaginal Sustained Administration of Metronidazole and In Vitro-In Vivo Relationships

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1982
The technical feasibility of utilizing tampons as a drug delivery system for prolonged intravaginal drug administrations was studied. Several commercially available brands of tampons were examined. The methodology for the incorporation of various doses of metronidazole, an antitrichomonas agent, in tampons was described.

Radioimmunoassay of serum medroxyprogesterone acetate (Provera ®) in women following oral and intravaginal administration

Steroids, 1975
A radioimmunoassay (RIA) method for measuring medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA, Provera) in serum has been developed utilizing benzene:iso-octane extraction, 3H-MPA to assess procedural losses, goat anti-MPA-3-(0-carboxymethyl) oxime-bovine serum albumin serum and dextran-coated charcoal separation.
