The Dynamics of Pharyngeal Shortening in Healthy Swallowing: Effects of Sex, Age, Bolus Volume and Consistency

Pharyngeal shortening can be indexed by tracking the location of the upper oesophageal sphincter (white star) relative to the cervical spine, with segments numbered according to an extended VERT scale with three segments per vertebra and one segment for each intervertebral space from C7 to C2.

Abstract I survey recent research on subnational income tax policy, arguing that a defining feature is geography. Geographic boundaries limit the power of subnational governments to tax people and activities.
