The Lancet, 1967Abstract In a series of 1495 consecutive necropsies in patients aged over ten years, the prevalence of adrenal cortical adenoma was 1·41% and of adrenal hyperplasia 7·37%. The prevalence of hypertension was virtually identical in adrenal adenoma, adrenal hyperplasia, and comparable control groups.

We present the case of a 56‐year‐old Japanese man who was admitted to hospital because of a right adrenal mass that was discovered during a routine physical examination.

Large Benign Virilizing Adrenal Adenoma
Southern Medical Journal, 1988The young woman described sought evaluation for infertility and was found to have virilization due to a large left adrenal tumor. Further endocrine studies confirmed a syndrome of pure virilization with normal glucocorticoid function. Resection of this apparently benign tumor resulted in regression of virilization, as well as pregnancy.
