Myxoid Neoplasms of the Adrenal Cortex

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2000
The myxoid variant of adrenocortical carcinoma is a rare neoplasm described previously in only two case reports. Because of the rarity of these lesions, the presence of myxoid changes in adrenal cortical neoplasms usually raises the possibility of malignancy.

Neoplasms of the adrenal cortex Clinical and basic aspects

Cancer treatment and research, 1997
Cushing’s syndrome due to adrenocortical tumors was reported at the turn of the century, almost a decade before the description of the syndrome and homonymous disease by Harvey Cushing [1]. At the time, the adrenal cortices were known to secrete an active principle necessary for life, the absence of which led to Addison’s disease.

Adrenal Neoplasms: Lessons from Adrenal Multidisciplinary Tumor Boards.

Radiographics, 2023

Application of TFE3 Immunophenotypic and TFE3 mRNA Expressions in Diagnosis and Prognostication of Adrenal Cortical Neoplasms and Distinction From Kidney Tumors

Applied immunohistochemistry & molecular morphology (Print), 2022
We explored the application of TFE3 immunostaining and TFE3 mRNA expression in the differential diagnosis and prognostication of adrenal cortical tumors and distinction of the latter from clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) which show significant ...

Adrenal tumors in the elderly.

Endocrine-Related Cancer
The incidence of adrenal tumors rises with age, but the link between adrenal aging and tumorigenesis is still not well defined. This mini-review summarizes age-related changes in both the adrenal cortex and medulla, including structural remodeling ...

HORMONE STUDIES IN A CASE OF ADRENOGENITALISM DUE TO NEOPLASM OF THE ADRENAL CORTEX

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1951
THE occurrence of large amounts of androgen in the urine of humans with adrenogenitalism resulting from adrenal cortical neoplasia is well known (1). Little is known concerning the hormone content of the tumors themselves. Except for the report of Slot (2), who found in the tumor of a patient with adrenogenitalism a “ quantity of male and female ...
