Symptomatic adrenal myelolipoma: therapeutic considerations
Four cases of symptomatic myelolipoma of the adrenal gland are presented. Three were treated at laparotomy and one with a laparoscopic approach. On the basis of these four cases we discuss the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis ...

Myelolipoma of the Adrenal Gland
Urologia Internationalis, 2010We report 2 cases of large adrenal myelolipoma. Although their fatty nature was found by a CT scan and there was no endocrine activity, surgery was done because of their size and the caused discomfort.

Asymptomatic myelolipoma of the adrenal
Pediatric Radiology, 1992Myelolipoma of the adrenal gland is a rare benign tumour which seldom produces symptoms unless it attains considerable size or hemorrhages into itself. Histologically the tumor is composed of varying proportions of fat and bone marrow elements. We present a case of a male child, with homozygous beta thalassemia and asymptomatic myelolipoma.

Myelolipoma of the adrenal gland is a rare, benign tumor of which only 17 clinical cases have been reported previously in the literature. We document 1 additional case and review the pathogenesis of the tumor, with emphasis on the theory of the tissue necrosis as the major stimulus of the myelolipomatous changes in the adrenals.

Myelolipoma of the adrenal gland is a benign tumor comprising adipose cells and mature hematopoietic elements. Most of these lesions are small and asymptomatic. Giant myelolipomas weighing greater than 4 kg are quite rare with three other cases reported in the literature. A case is presented of a giant myelolipoma that was resected surgically.

Adrenal myelolipomas are nonfunctioning benign tumors composed of hematopoietic elements and mature adipose tissue. These tumors usually remain small and asymptomatic; occasionally, however, they reach massive proportions and become symptomatic. To date, only two giant adrenal myelolipomas (>4,000 g) have been described in the literature.

ABSTRACTA case of adrenal myelolipoma demonstrated by ultrasound and computed tomography is presented with a discussion of the aetiology and review of literature. Ultrasound and CT proved to be invaluable in the pre‐operative diagnosis of adrenal myeldipoma.

Myelolipomas are rare benign tumors often found incidentally due, in the majority of cases, to the fact that they are asymptomatic. The incidence of adrenal myelolipomas at autopsy is low (0.2%). These tumors are made up of fat and hematopoietic cells.

MR Imaging of Adrenal Myelolipomas
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1991The magnetic resonance (MR) images in six patients with seven adrenal myelolipomas are presented. Four lesions involved the right gland, and three the left; they ranged from 3 to 12.5 cm in diameter. Magnetic resonance was able to image all lesions.
