Carbochromes as adsorbents in gas chromatography

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1973
1. The optimum conditions of modification of graphitized thermal carbon black with apiezon L and polydimethylsiloxane were determined. 2. Columns with modified carbon black possess high efficiency and selectivity in the selection of organic and organometallic compounds of various structures. 3.

Decomposition of Adsorbed Xylene on Adsorbent Using Nonthermal Plasma and Gas Circulation

2008 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2008
The xylene decomposition system which consists of adsorption process by adsorbents and adsorbed xylene decomposition process using nonthermal plasma with gas circulation is investigated. Two types of hydrophobic zeolite pellets are used as adsorbent.

ADSORBED OIL OF GAS CONDENSATE FIELDS

Геология и геофизика, 2016
Abstract The pore space of reservoir rocks has a lot of active centers capable to form different types of bonds (from hydrogen to chemical). Therefore, almost any hydrocarbon can be adsorbed to a particular extent on the internal pore surface and form an adsorbed layer, which has a definite spatial configuration and makes contact with a ...

The Structure of Gas Adsorbent Carbons

The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1958
Irregularly shaped and layer-type pore strnctures have both been proposed for gas-adsorbent carbons. In an attempt to distinguish between these structures, the penetration by liquids with diberent molecular shapes into the pore systems of these carbons was studied.

Boron Nitride as a Selective Gas Adsorbent

Langmuir, 1994
A series of eight porous boron nitride materials with nitrogen/BET surface areas of 437-712 m[sup 2]/g have been produced using polymeric precursors varied by systematic synthesis modifications. All samples exhibit type I isotherms indicating that a majority of the porosity occurs in pores with radius less than 1.0 nm.

The first virial coefficient of an adsorbed gas

Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, 1976
Abstract Various approaches to the derivation of the first virial coefficient of an adsorbed gas by statistical mechanics are compared. Implicit assumptions are disentangled to show what is required to reconcile differences between them. Classical and quantum mechanical treatments are compared for the motion of adsorbed molecules normal to the ...

Molecular Simulation of Adsorbed Natural Gas

Separation Science and Technology, 1992
Abstract Adsorbed natural gas is being investigated as a substitute for gasoline. The most important factor in engineering studies is the maximum storage capacity of adsorbents for natural gas. Monte Carlo calculations were performed to simulate the adsorption of natural gas on activated carbon.

Number of adsorbers for a gas separation system

Moscow University Chemistry Bulletin, 2007
An algorithm for the total number of adsorbers and the number of active adsorbers (i.e., the ones in the adsorption mode at the moment in question) has been designed in terms of the ergodic hypothesis. This algorithm is intended for the design of gas separation systems.

Gas Chromatography on Zeolite-Based Adsorbents

Chromatographia, 2009
The adsorption and gas chromatographic properties of zeolites, both modified with carbon and supported as a surface-porous layer, have been studied. Carbonization of zeolites changes the chemical nature of their surface and their molecular sieve properties.

Biomass conversion to carbon adsorbents and gas

Biomass and Bioenergy, 2001
Abstract A process is created for the utilization of biomass by producing carbon adsorbents and gas. Carbon adsorbents with alkaline character of the surface, tar and gas products are obtained by steam pyrolysis of biomass (almond shells, nut shells, apricot stones, cherry stones, grape seeds).
