NMR Relaxation of Gas Adsorbed in Microporous Material

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters
NMR relaxometry has been widely applied to characterize fluid confined in porous media because of its versatility, chemical selectivity, and noninvasive nature. Here we extend its usage to gas adsorbed in microporous materials by establishing a new quantitative model based on the molecular level NMR relaxation mechanism revealed by the molecular ...

Crosslinked polymethylphenylsiloxanes as adsorbents for gas chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 1980
Crosslinked polymethylphenylsiloxanes that are suitable as adsorbents for gas-solid chromatography have been prepared. These new materials are characterized and evaluated as chromatographic supports. Their chromatographic properties are compared to OV-17, a linear polymethylphenylsiloxane, often used as a liquid phase in gas-liquid chromatography ...

Ionic adsorbents in capillary gas chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 1986
Abstract To enhance the resolution of molecules having similar geometry but differing in dipole or quadrupole moments, we studied capillary columns packed with a non-porous ionic adsorbent, barium sulphate. Barium sulphate modified with sodium chloride was successfully used to separate some isomers of unsaturated, aromatic hydrocarbons, and oxygen ...

Kinetic theory for a mobile adsorbed gas

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1994
The equations of motion for a classical adsorbed gas on a single crystal surface, in which the kinetic energy of the adsorbate is large compared with the potential barrier between sites, are derived. If the corrugation of the surface is sufficiently small, an isolated adsorbate will translate in a ballistic motion parallel to the surface for a distance

Dielectric Properties of Adsorbed Gas Molecules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1967
In this paper the dielectric behavior of gas molecules adsorbed on alumina powder is studied. The method which is used to measure the relative polarizability of adsorbed molecules is described and the results, obtained for the gases N2, CO2, C2H2 as well as for the polar gases Cl2F2C and 1,1-F2C2H4 are discussed.
