Experimental and theoretical study on the dynamic effective stress of loaded gassy coal during gas release

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2023
In the process of mining coalbed methane (CBM), an unsteady state often arises due to the rapid extraction, release and pressure relief of CBM. In this case, the effective stress of coal changes dynamically, affecting the stability of the gassy coal seam.

Lattice-gas modeling of CO adlayers on Pd(100)

open access: yes, 2003
Using a lattice-gas model with pairwise interactions, we study the ordered structures, coverage dependence of the heat of adsorption, and other experimentally observable behavior of adsorbed CO overlayers on Pd(100) single crystal surfaces.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Gas Content and Gas Occurrence Mechanism of Deep Coal Seams in the Shenfu-Linxing Block

open access: yesEnergies
The Shenfu-Linxing block in the Ordos Basin holds abundant deep coalbed methane (CBM) resources, which can alleviate gas shortages and aid dual carbon target achievement. Considering isothermal adsorption traits and parameters like vitrinite reflectance,

Model Optimization of Shale Gas Reservoir Volume Fracturing Dissolved Gas Simulation Adsorbed Gas

open access: yesGeofluids, 2021
Shale reservoirs have some natural fractures with a certain density and connectivity. The basic percolation model of shale gas reservoir: the black oil model of gas-water phase is used as the basic model, and the dissolved gas is used to simulate ...

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Nonequilibrium transport equations and ab initio study of adsorption processes on carbon nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In a theoretical study of gas adsorption on carbon nanotubes (CNT) nonequilibrium processes of ionization, polarization, surface diffusion and desorption of atoms are considered self-consistently.

Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

Investigation of Adsorbed Gases Content in Coal Beds in Bosnia and Herzegovina [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2008
Investigation of the gas fraction in coal beds in Bosnia & Herzegovina has been performed systematically since 1988. Gas in coal beds can be present in free or adsorbed form, and dissolved in water.
