Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Investigation of Adsorbed Gases Content in Coal Beds in Bosnia and Herzegovina [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2008
Investigation of the gas fraction in coal beds in Bosnia & Herzegovina has been performed systematically since 1988. Gas in coal beds can be present in free or adsorbed form, and dissolved in water.

Graphene: Gas Detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The resistivity of graphene is sensitive to the presence of gas molecules adsorbed on it. Since graphene is one atom thick, a gas detector made from it might be sensitive to the presence of even single molecules of gas.

Surface phase transitions in one-dimensional channels arranged in a triangular cross-sectional structure: Theory and Monte Carlo simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Monte Carlo simulations and finite-size scaling analysis have been carried out to study the critical behavior in a submonolayer lattice-gas of interacting monomers adsorbed on one-dimensional channels arranged in a triangular cross-sectional structure ...

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Law of imbibition effect on shale gas occurrence state

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2020
So far, how imbibition effect changes the occurrence state of shale gas has not been quantitatively understood, and the law of gas–water dynamic displacement caused by the retention of abundant fracturing fluid in a shale reservoir has not been ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Adsorption in Mixtures with Competing Interactions

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
A binary mixture of oppositely charged particles with additional short-range attraction between like particles and short-range repulsion between different ones in the neighborhood of a substrate preferentially adsorbing the first component is studied by ...

Net Charge on a Noble Gas Atom Adsorbed on a Metallic Surface

open access: yes, 2000
Adsorbed noble gas atoms donate (on the average) a fraction of an electronic charge to the substrate metal. The effect has been experimentally observed as an adsorptive change in the electronic work function.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.
