A three stage model for adsorption of nonionic surfactants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Copyright @ 1993 American Institute of Physics.A three stage model for the adsorption of nonionic surfactants is proposed which makes use of existing theory from studies of random sequential adsorption.

Adsorption of 3-chloroaniline on potato skin in aqueous solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The adsorption behaviour of aromatic amine 3-chloroaniline (3-CA) from aqueous solution on fresh potato skin was investigated. A series of batch experiments were conducted under different experimental conditions of contact time, 3-chloroaniline ...

Experimental and numerical investigation of the effect of ultrasound on the growth kinetics of zeolite A

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry, 2022
Ultrasound is a promising technology for the improvement of zeolite production, due to its beneficial effects on mass transfer and nucleation. However, a broad understanding of the sonication parameters that influence the growth of zeolites most is still

Elastic heterogeneity governs asymmetric adsorption-desorption in a soft porous crystal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Metal--organic frameworks (MOFs), which possess a high degree of crystallinity and a large surface area with tunable inorganic nodes and organic linkers, exhibit high stimuli-responsiveness and molecular adsorption selectivity that enable various applications. The adsorption in MOFs changes the crystalline structure and elastic moduli.

Removal of basic yellow cationic dye by an aqueous dispersion of Moroccan stevensite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this study was to investigate the adsorption of basic yellow, a cationic dye, from aqueous solution by natural stevensite, with 104m2/g of specific surface area. The kinetics and the effects of several experimental parameters such as the pH of

Competitive Adsorption of a Two-Component Gas on a Deformable Adsorbent [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate the competitive adsorption of a two-component gas on the surface of an adsorbent whose adsorption properties vary in adsorption due to the adsorbent deformation. The essential difference of adsorption isotherms for a deformable adsorbent both from the classical Langmuir adsorption isotherms of a two-component gas and from the adsorption ...

Fermi level influence on the adsorption at semiconductor surfaces - ab initio simulations [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Appl. Phys. 114, 063507 (2013), 2013
Chemical adsorption of the species at semiconductor surfaces is analyzed showing the existence of the two contributions to adsorption energy: bond creation and charge transfer. It is shown that the energy of quantum surface states is affected by the electric field at the surface, nevertheless the potential contribution of electron and nuclei cancels ...

Photo-induced changes in the Langmuir adsorption constants of metal oxide layers in self-cleaning cation sensors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For the first time, we have used a metal oxide-coated quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) to measure Cs+ adsorption onto illuminated and un-illuminated mesoporous TiO2 (m-TiO2) films by microgravimetric means in-situ. In the simplest case, such experiments

Chlorine adsorption on the Cu(111) surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We investigate the adsorption of chlorine on the Cu(111) surface with full potential all-electron density functional calculations. Chlorine adsorption at the fcc hollow sites is slightly preferred over that at the hcp hollow. The adsorption geometry is in excellent agreement with electron diffraction and ion scattering data.

A Study of the Removal of Minor Amounts of HS from Natural Gas by Activated Carbon

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2002
Studies have been made of the removal of minor amounts of H 2 S from natural gas by activated carbon. The surface alkalinity of the carbon had a considerable effect on the H 2 S capacity, although this was not permanent.
