Sorption study of organic contaminant on raw and modified clay materials

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2013
The adsorption of volatile organic compound VOC (o-xylene) was studied by a static headspace coupled to gas chromatography in natural and intercalated clay. Vapor–solid adsorption isotherms of o-xylene were measured at 20 °C, 30 °C and 40 °C.

Biomimetic Core–Shell Liposome Nanoparticles Deplete Lipoproteins and Enhance the Purity of Extracellular Vesicles from Human Blood

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipoprotein‐mimicking nanoparticles (SL‐NPs), comprising Fe3O4@SiO2 cores coated with liposomal bilayers, selectively capture lipoproteins through protein corona formation. The resulting SL‐NP‐lipoprotein complexes can be removed by low‐speed centrifugation, thereby enhancing the purity of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) isolated from human serum ...

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Separation of N–C5H12–C9H20 Paraffins Using Boehmite by Inverse Gas Chromatography

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The separation of a mixture of C5−C9 n-paraffins was achieved by Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC) by using boehmite; AlO(OH), in a packed column with short exposure times and temperatures; from 45 °C to 52 °C.

Inference of polymer adsorption from electrical double layer measurements : the silver iodide-polyvinyl alcohol system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The purpose of this study was to investigate how the double layer properties of charged particles are modified by the presence of adsorbed polymer molecules and to obtain information on the conformation of the polymer layer from the observed alterations ...

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Adsorption of 1,1-Dimethylhydrazine by Hydrolysis Lignin [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2018
Many modern launch vehicles use unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) as liquid fuel in the space program. UDMH is highly toxic and poses a serious threat to the environment and to humans. One of the most effective methods of UDMH neutralization in case

Adsorption Equilibria of Linear Alkenes onto a Sulphonated Styrene-Divinylbenzene Copolymer

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2008
The adsorption equilibrium constants of the alkenes propene, but-1-ene, pent-1-ene, hex-1-ene and hept-1-ene onto the sulphonated styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer Amberlyst 15 were determined by inverse gas chromatography.

NMR studies of adsorption processes upon activated carbon [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
This thesis is concerned with the adsorption behaviour of adsorbate molecules upon activated carbon. Limitations in bulk gravimetric measurements mean that the mechanism of adsorption for adsorbates upon carbonaceous materials is poorly characterised ...
