The adsorption kinetic and isotherm studies of metal ions (Co2+, Sr2+, Cs+) on Fe3O4 nanoparticle of radioactive importance

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2023
The release of radionuclide elements from nuclear, medical, research, and defense fields has become a serious environmental problem. Hence, the investigation of the adsorption kinetic and isotherm of metal ions (Co2+, Sr2+, and Cs+) which are commonly ...

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

Effect of macromolecular crowding on the kinetics of glycolytic enzymes and the behaviour of glycolysis in yeast [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Water is involved in all aspects of biological activity, both as a solvent and as a reactant. It is hypothesized that intracellular water is in a highly structured state due to the high concentrations of macromolecules in the cell and that this may ...

pyGAPS: a Python-based framework for adsorption isotherm processing and material characterisation

open access: yesAdsorption, 2019
Material characterisation through adsorption is a widely-used laboratory technique. The isotherms obtained through volumetric or gravimetric experiments impart insight through their features but can also be analysed to determine material characteristics ...

Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

On the use of the IAST method for gas separation studies in porous materials with gate-opening behavior

open access: yes, 2018
Highly flexible nanoporous materials, exhibiting for instance gate opening or breathing behavior, are often presented as candidates for separation processes due to their supposed high adsorption selectivity.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Phosphate Sorption in Oxisols in Paraíba State, Brazil, Classified as Solution Equilibrium Phosphorus [PDF]

open access: yesIranica Journal of Energy and Environment, 2012
Aiming to evaluate the phosphorus adsorption in Oxisols with phosphorus remaining classified using the Langmuir isotherm, a study was developed in the laboratory at Federal University of Campina Grande, PB, with samples of the surface layer (0-20 cm) of ...

Study on the Mechanism of Procyanidins Adsorption onto Chitosan Microflower

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2023
In order to understand the adsorption mechanism of chitosan microflower (CSMF) on procyanidins (PC), CSMF was used as an adsorbent to adsorb PC solutions under different adsorption conditions.
