Transport properties in multilayer adsorption of dimers

Physical Review E, 2022
In this paper, we study the transport properties (percolation and conductivity) of a two-dimensional structure created by depositing dimers on a one-dimensional substrate where multilayer deposition is allowed. Specifically, we are interested in studying how the mentioned properties vary as a function of the height of the multilayer.

Adsorption properties of alumina

Kolloid-Zeitschrift & Zeitschrift für Polymere, 1971
Besides the three previously reported (3) surface species (i. e. outer, inner complex and a py+-species) which are formed on adsorption and desorption of pyridine on dehydroxylated alumina at temperatures above 200 °C, a fourth low temperature species is identified.

Adsorption properties of hemoglobin

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012
The isotherms of hemoglobin adsorption on adsorbents of different nature and porous structure are obtained at different adsorption times. The maximum adsorption values are determined, and the adsorption’s relationship with the adsorbent pore size is established.

Adsorption properties of nanoparticles

Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2013
Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, Auger spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry were used to study the physicochemical properties of nanoparticles of several metals and their oxides. The adsorption properties of the nanoparticles were determined for their interaction with hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen.

Adsorption properties of hydrophobic surfaces

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1968
Abstract Completely hydrophobic adsorbents such as graphitized thermal carbon blacks, BN, and many sulfides are nonspecific, provided that the structural defects are largely eliminated. Their surfaces carry no π-bonds or groups with lone electron pairs, ions, or free radicals.

Physicochemical Studies on the Adsorption Properties of Asbestos

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2001
Toxic asbestos fibers are known to be carriers of carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) when ingested by human lungs. To clarify the asbestos-PAH interactions, the adsorption properties of four different asbestos, namely amosite, anthofillite, crocidolite, and chrysotile (termed AMOS, ANTHO, CROX, and CHRYS, respectively), toward pyrene (py ...

Thermodynamic properties of rhamnolipid micellization and adsorption

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2014
of the surface tension, density, viscosity and conductivity of aqueous solutions of rhamnolipid at natural and controlled pH were made at 293 K. On the basis of the obtained results the critical micelle concentration of rhamnolipid and its Gibbs surface excess concentration at the water-air interface were determined.

On the Adsorption Properties of Ammonia to Various Surfaces

1989
Ammonia resulting from intensive agricultural livestock and fertilizing activities is nowadays considered to be one of the main causes of soil acidification. To set up an active program to attack the acid rain issue, ‘on-line’ monitoring with sufficient sensitivity (down to 1 ppb) of the ambient ammonia (NH3) concentration is an impetus.

HepARIN — Examination of its antibacterial adsorption properties

Urology, 1981
One of the primary antibacterial defense mechanisms of the bladder is the action of the luminal mucopolysaccharide layer against adsorption of inoculated bacteria. Previous studies have shown that local instillation of the mucopolysaccharide heparin can prevent bacterial adsorption on the bladder mucosa denuded of this "antiadherence factor." To ...

On the adsorptive properties of silicon carbide: gas molecule adsorption

Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures, 2019
AbstractOn the bases of two different approaches (solid-state and quantum-chemical) adsorption of nitrogen atom and ammonia molecules on SiC substrate is considered.
