Adult-Type Granulosa Cell Tumors and FOXL2 Mutation

Cancer Research, 2009
Abstract Little is known about the pathogenesis of ovarian granulosa cell tumors. Recently, we reported the identification of a somatic FOXL2 402C→G mutation that is present in virtually all adult-type granulosa cell tumors, but not in a wide range of other tumor types.

Luteinized Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor—A Series of 9 Cases

International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2011
Most adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCTs) consist of small-to-medium cells with scanty cytoplasm imparting a "small blue cell" appearance. We report 9 cases of luteinized AGCT, whose appearance differs from typical AGCT by the presence of abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm in at least 50% of tumor cells.

Characteristics of recurrence in adult-type granulosa cell tumor

International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, 2008
Granulosa cell tumor (GCT) of the ovary is a very rare neoplasm, which is characterized by an indolent clinical course. Thus, the clinical characteristics, optimal treatment, and follow-up protocols are not well established. The goal of this study is to evaluate clinical findings, prognostic factors, and recurrent features of GCT in Korean patients ...

Gonadal tumor with granulosa cell tumor features in an adult testis

Annals of Diagnostic Pathology, 2002
Granulosa cell tumor is almost exclusively an ovarian tumor. Rare cases of granulosa cell tumor have been reported involving the testes. We report a testicular gonadal stromal tumor with granulosa cell differentiation in a 54-year-old white man. The tumor was discovered by an ultrasound evaluation for left hydrocele.
