Adult-Type Granulosa Cell Tumors and FOXL2 Mutation

Cancer Research, 2009
Abstract Little is known about the pathogenesis of ovarian granulosa cell tumors. Recently, we reported the identification of a somatic FOXL2 402C→G mutation that is present in virtually all adult-type granulosa cell tumors, but not in a wide range of other tumor types.

Characteristics of recurrence in adult-type granulosa cell tumor

International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, 2008
Granulosa cell tumor (GCT) of the ovary is a very rare neoplasm, which is characterized by an indolent clinical course. Thus, the clinical characteristics, optimal treatment, and follow-up protocols are not well established. The goal of this study is to evaluate clinical findings, prognostic factors, and recurrent features of GCT in Korean patients ...

Luteinized Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor—A Series of 9 Cases

International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2011
Most adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCTs) consist of small-to-medium cells with scanty cytoplasm imparting a "small blue cell" appearance. We report 9 cases of luteinized AGCT, whose appearance differs from typical AGCT by the presence of abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm in at least 50% of tumor cells.

Combined Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor and Mucinous Cystadenoma of the Ovary: Granulosa Cell Tumor with Heterologous Mucinous Elements

International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2005
We describe an unusual ovarian neoplasm in a 57-year-old woman composed of an admixture of mucinous cystadenoma and adult granulosa cell tumor (AGCT). In areas the two components were separate but elsewhere there was intermingling of the two elements. The combination of mucinous cystadenoma and AGCT has only rarely been reported.

Luteinized Adult Granulosa Cell Tumors of the Ovary

International Journal of gynecological Pathology, 1994
Four luteinized adult granulosa cell tumors of the ovary in women 22-76 (average 53) years of age are described. Two patients presented with postmenopausal bleeding, one with dysfunctional uterine bleeding and one with amenorrhea. The tumors were all stage Ia, ranged from 2 to 11 (average 5.1) cm in greatest dimension, and were typically solid ...

Adult granulosa cell tumor of the testicle.

The Canadian journal of urology, 2013
We report a rare case of adult granulosa cell tumor of the testis in a 68-year-old man. A case and literature review of the associated clinical features, histopathological characteristics and immunochemistry are presented. The tumor is typically slow growing but has a higher risk of malignancy when > 5 cm.

Mucinous Cystadenoma Coexisting With Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor in the Ovary

International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2011
We herein report a rare tumor combination of mucinous cystadenoma and an adult granulosa cell tumor in the same ovary of a 50-year-old woman. Ultrasound examination showed a multicystic mass in the left ovary. Histologically it showed 2 components that were intimately admixed.

Immunohistochemical Characterization of Primary and Recurrent Adult Granulosa Cell Tumors

International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, 2012
Adult granulosa cell tumors are usually diagnosed at an early stage. However, most patients with advanced or recurrent disease will die of the disease due to limited treatment options. Data on the immunohistochemical characteristics of recurrent granulosa cell tumors are limited.

Granulosa Cell Tumor of the Adult Testis: Ultrastructural and Ultrasonographic Characteristics

Journal of Urology, 1989
We report a case of a granulosa cell tumor of the testis. The ultrastructural characteristics of this rare tumor were compared to its homologue in the ovary and they were similar.

Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumor of Adult Testis: A Case Report

Urology, 2008
Juvenile granulosa cell tumor (JGCT) of the testis is a rare tumor and typically occurs in the testis of children aged 4 years or younger. This report describes a case of a 27-year-old man who presented with a JGCT in his right testis. Orchiectomy was performed. No recurrence was noted during an 8-year follow-up. This is the first reported case of JGCT
