An Advanced High‐Performance Ultrafast Ammonium‐Ion Aqueous Battery Based on Dual‐Metal Redox Open Framework Molecular Magnet

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Prussian Blue Analogue molecular magnet KMnFeHCF is demonstrated as a high‐performance cathode for ultra‐fast aqueous ammonium‐ion batteries. A full cell using KMnFeHCF and graphite delivers ~71 mAh g−1 at 1.25 A g−1 and ~51 mAh g−1 at 2.2 A g−1, retaining 50% capacity after 1850 cycles. Its scalability, cycling stability, and low cost offer strong

Polar Auxin Transport Determines Adventitious Root Emergence and Growth in Rice

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Flooding is a severe limitation for crop production worldwide. Unlike other crop plants, rice (Oryza sativa L.) is well adapted to partial submergence rendering it a suitable crop plant to understand flooding tolerance.

Scalable, Microwave‐Enabled Synthesis of Ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and Heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x Colloidal Nanocrystals: Carrier Dynamics and Photocatalytic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two microwave‐assisted synthetic methods, specifically a one‐pot and a seeded‐growth approach, are developed within a hydroalcoholic solution for the growth of single‐phase ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x colloidal nanocrystals. Both types of nanocrystals show significant photocatalytic activity for 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation ...

The Application Timing of a Cytokinin B-Mo-based Product Affects the Characteristics of Rooted Cuttings and Nonstructural Carbohydrates of Coleus (Plectranthus scutellarioides cv. Wild Lime) during Adventitious Root Development

open access: yesHortScience
A large group of horticulture species are propagated vegetatively through shoot-tip cuttings harvested from stock plants and planted to form adventitious roots.

Root architecture of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) under periodic waterlogging stress [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Tobacco is a plant that has high economic value and is sensitive under waterlogging stress. Waterlogging stress has a major impact on root organs, so it can change root architecture. The aim of this study was to determine the root architecture of tobacco

Possibilities and limitations of vegetative propagation in breeding and mass propagation of Norway spruce [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The use of vegetative mass propagation in practical forestry with Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) is limited at present, although its potential to deliver high genetic gains is obvious.

Thidiazuron-induced shoot organogenesis from mature leaf explants of scented Pelargonium capitatum cultivars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Shoot organogenesis from mature leaf tissues of two scented Pelargonium capitatum cultivars, ‘Attar of Roses’ and ‘Atomic Snowflake’, grown in the greenhouse, were optimized in the presence of thidiazuron (TDZ).

A DAO1-Mediated Circuit Controls Auxin and Jasmonate Crosstalk Robustness during Adventitious Root Initiation in Arabidopsis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Adventitious rooting is a post-embryonic developmental program governed by a multitude of endogenous and environmental cues. Auxin, along with other phytohormones, integrates and translates these cues into precise molecular signatures to provide a ...

Two‐Dimensional La2CoO4 Perovskite Oxide Enabled by Phonon‐Resonance‐Driven Exfoliation for High‐Performance Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Few‐layer La2CoO4 nanosheets are produced via phonon‐resonance‐assisted cleavage of the rock‐salt layers in the Ruddlesden‐Popper structure under the 20 kHz resonance condition, enabling controlled exfoliation into ultrathin sheets. The nanosheets show improved gas‐sensing capability, delivering an 86.67% response to 1 ppm NO2 at room temperature ...

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated mutagenesis of CAROTENOID CLEAVAGE DIOXYGENASE 8 in tomato provides resistance against the parasitic weed Phelipanche aegyptiaca. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Broomrapes (Phelipanche aegyptiaca and Orobanche spp.) are obligate plant parasites that cause extreme damage to crop plants. The parasite seeds have strict requirements for germination, involving preconditioning and exposure to specific chemicals ...
