Uncoupling TGFβ1 signalling from collagen protein synthesis in Dupuytren's disease

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Dupuytren's disease is a fibroproliferative disorder of the palmer fascia (PF) characterised by flexion contractures in the hand. Dupuytren's disease can be treated surgically, but disease recurrence rates are high, potentially due to continual production of matrisomal proteins.

Harmonising digitised herbarium data to enhance biodiversity knowledge: Major steps towards an updated checklist for the flora of Greenland

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Herbaria worldwide hold centuries of plant data that are key to understanding and protecting biodiversity; however, even with increased digital access, differences in plant naming systems make it difficult to compare records. We developed a semi‐automated workflow that standardises species names and organises herbaria records from multiple institutions

Simulated elephant foraging alters tree root exudation rates: Species‐specific responses and implications for belowground carbon dynamics in tropical forests

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Asian elephants play crucial roles in ecosystem functioning, and their interactions with plants influence above‐ and belowground carbon cycling. We tested whether their mechanically destructive foraging triggers short‐term, stress‐induced shifts in tree root exudation, an underappreciated pathway linking herbivory to belowground carbon processes.

Evaluation of the Potential Carrier and Controlled Release of Antibiotics by Zinc, Nickel, and Cobalt Ferrite Nanoparticles Encapsulated with Silica and Functionalized with Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, EarlyView.
The study reveals the inhibitory potential of encapsulated nanoparticles functionalized with moxifloxacin hydrochloride. ABSTRACT Bacterial resistance represents a significant global health threat associated with the development of microbial resistance genes.
