ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

HLA‐associated adverse drug reactions ‐ scoping review
Alleles of the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system have been associated with the occurrence of idiosyncratic adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Accordingly, it is assumed that pre‐emptive testing for the presence of certain HLA alleles (HLA‐typing) could ...

A prospective observational study of ophthalmic adverse drug reactions in a tertiary care hospital
Background: According to an epidemiological study, 1.725.1% of eye disease was drug induced, but the evidence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in ophthalmology is found to be scarce, as it is difficult in correlation between symptoms and ocular signs ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Spontaneous notification of adverse drug reactions
Introduction: The proper use of medications eliminates or controls numerous diseases, contributes to the well-being of the population and increases life expectancy; but it can also generate adverse reactions, which must be reported to identify new risks ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
