Aeolian processes and landforms

Geological Society, London, Memoirs, 2009
Abstract A number of major factors have driven the volume and nature of aeolian geomorphology in the second half of the twentieth century: the growth of process studies; the availability of remote sensing, the development of new dating techniques (e.g. optical dating), the utilization of new technologies (e.g.

Challenges in aeolian geomorphology: Investigating aeolian streamers

Geomorphology, 2008
Abstract This paper reviews the challenges involved with instrumentation, data acquisition, analysis, and the application of theory when conducting field experiments in natural aeolian environments. This is presented in the context of a field investigation into the formation and behaviour of aeolian sand streamers.

The intnesity of Aeolian tones

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1956
The generation of Aeolian tones is interpreted in terms of the theroy of aerodynamic sound. To do this, the intensity of the radiated sound is expressed in terms of the fluctuations in force upon a moving rigid body using the approximation that, at low mach numbers, these forces can be calculated assuming incompressibility of the flow. The fluctuations

Aeolian

2017
Aeolian is a creative work of poetry in which coming out, self-discovery, identity through LGBTQ+ community, family pressures, romantic struggles, secrecy, and survival are explored through myth, poetic form, sense-of-place, and music. The work is divided into three sections like an art triptych with each section titled: Vinyl, Mixtape, and Music ...

Aeolian Geomorphology and its Simulation – Aeolian Sand Dunes

2009
No matter from the viewpoint of occupied area or from the complexity of dynamical behavior, sand dunes and sand dune fields are the most significant manifestation of aeolian geomorphology system. Small-scale sand ripples can not grow into large-scale sand dunes, and sand dunes have distinct characteristics compared with sand ripples.

The Aeolian Arc

2016
The Aeolian arc volcanic province consists of seven main islands and several seamounts in the Southern Tyrrhenian Sea. Rock compositions range from calcalkaline to shoshonitic and potassic alkaline, with an increase in potassium from the western to the central-eastern islands.

Aeolian Vibration

2006
This chapter describer aeolian vibration of overhead conductors. It includes the physics of the phenomenon, issues related to the properties and mechanics of the conductor itself, damping devices, simulation of the response of the conductor plus damping devices to aeolian vibration, impact of aeolian vibration on the line design, and methods of ...
