ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Flow and Aeration Characteristics of Micro Bubble Jet Flow

open access: yesProgress in Multiphase Flow Research, 2007
In this study, a new micro bubble generator, i.e. nozzle, with a very simple construction is proposed newly and the behavior, such as velocity distribution and spread, of micro bubble jet flow is made clear by PIV and LDA measurements of velocity distribution. The new nozzle uses a very high velocity water jet flow having a large velocity gradient near

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Aerated steel slag filter system performance study for pollutants removal from domestic wastewater

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Nitrogen removal from wastewater often requires a highly cost of chemical treatment to prevent over loading of nutrient in effluent discharge to the surface water body. However, to remove nitrogen it requires a complex process. Therefore, the aim of this

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Effect of Height and Geometry of Stepped Spillway on Inception Point Location

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Air entrainment in a stepped spillway is very important to protect the spillway from cavitation damage. The inception point is the location where air starts entering the non-aerated flow zone. The inception point location depends on different parameters,

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Nature-based solutions for municipal wastewater treatment: A systematic review on full-scale systems from the last 30 years (1995–2025)

open access: yesNature-Based Solutions
Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for municipal wastewater treatment have emerged as sustainable alternatives to increase global access to sanitation. This study has analyzed the global distribution and key design characteristics of NbS over the past 30 years,
