Aeration optimisation of Biolgical Aerated Filters

open access: yes, 1996
Aeration costs account for a large proportion of the total running costs of biological aerated filters (BAFs) which are in themselves an energy intensive form of treatment process. Optimisation of oxygenation efficiency is therefore an obvious goal as small improvements in operating efficiency will yield significant savings in energy consumption.

Catalysed aeration of reduced ilmenite

open access: yes, 1999
A study has been conducted on the aeration of reduced ilmenite with emphasis on increasing the aeration speed and understanding the mechanism of the aeration based on laboratory scale experiments.

Effect of ammonium concentration on methane oxidation and CO2 removal in an anaerobic biotrickling filter treating synthetic landfill gas and leachate

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Landfill gas (LFG) and leachate are commonly treated separately through energy‐intensive processes. This study evaluated the integration of both streams in an anaerobic biotrickling filter (BTF) to achieve simultaneous methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) removal coupled with ammonium (NH4+) transformation, and how the microbial ...

Morpho‐Anatomical and HPTLC Investigations of Lysimachia nummularia L. (Primulaceae) Grown in Switzerland

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
This research provides a complete morphoanatomical description of Lysimachia nummularia, as well as a HPTLC profile. Standard techniques of light and scanning electron microscopies, as well as standard techniques of HPTLC, were used. ABSTRACT Primulaceae are distributed all over the world, encompassing around 2590 species.
