Influence of leachate recirculation on aerobic and anaerobic decomposition of solid wastes

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2007
In this study, the effect of leachate recirculation on aerobic and anaerobic degradation of municipal solid wastes is determined by four laboratory-scale landfill reactors. The options studied and compared with the traditional anaerobic landfill are: leachate recirculation, landfill aeration, and aeration with leachate recirculation.

Ammonia volatilization during aerobic and anaerobic manure decomposition

Plant and Soil, 1989
Ammonia volatilization, nitrogen immobilization, carbon decomposition and formation of volatile fatty acids was investigated in a laboratory incubation experiment with fresh poultry manure, to which increasing amounts of straw were added.
