Aerobic Methylotrophic Bacteria as Phytosymbionts
Microbiology, 2001This paper deals with the physiological, biochemical, and molecular genetic aspects of the interaction of aerobic methylotrophic bacteria with plants by means of phytohormones (such as cytokinins and auxins) and other physiologically active substances (vitamins, exopolysaccharides, bioprotectants).

Aerobic bacteria in house dust
Journal of Allergy, 1954Abstract Bacteriologic study of thirty-eight samples of house dust collected in the New York area have revealed a flora which varies widely, qualitatively and quantitatively. Representatives of seven aerobic bacterial families were observed, only one of which, Bacillaceae, was consistently present.

Enzymes of Thermophilic Aerobic Sporeforming Bacteria
Journal of Applied Bacteriology, 1968SUMMARY Esterase patterns of 217 strains of thermophilic aerobic sporeforming bacteria were examined by starch gel electrophoresis. Classification of these strains by this method corresponded closely with the results obtained by biochemical tests. Protein patterns were also examined by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. In order to study

Activity of imipenem on aerobic bacteria
Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 1983Imipenem is a new carbapenem antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is a potent inhibitor of plasmid- and chromosomally-mediated beta-lactamases. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro activity of imipenem on clinical isolates classified according to their susceptibility to beta ...

Aerobic Mesophilic Bacteria in Composts
Nature, 1948IN a previous communication1, an account was given of the activity of the thermophilic flora which develops in composts made from grass cuttings (lawn mowings). This thermophilic flora can be seen as a white coating on the cuttings, particularly in the upper layers during the high-temperature phase.

Aerobic photosynthetic bacteria.
Microbiological sciences, 1991Erythrobacter species OCh 114 is a strictly aerobic bacterium containing bacteriochlorophyll a. Although its growth is dependent on heterotrophic nutrition, light enhances its growth yield and CO2-fixation activity. A new category--aerobic photosynthetic bacteria--is proposed for Erythrobacter species OCh 114.

Nitrite inhibition of aerobic bacteria
Current Microbiology, 1979Nitrite was shown to inhibit active transport, oxygen uptake, and oxidative phosphorylation byPseudomonas aeruginosa. The evidence strongly suggested that nitrite exerted its inhibitory effect by oxidizing ferrous iron of an electron carrier(s), such as cytochrome oxidase, to ferric iron.

Exploiting Aerobic Carboxydotrophic Bacteria for Industrial Biotechnology
2021Aerobic carboxydotrophic bacteria are a group of microorganisms which possess the unique trait to oxidize carbon monoxide (CO) as sole energy source with molecular oxygen (O2) to produce carbon dioxide (CO2) which subsequently is used for biomass formation via the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle.

Imipenem Resistance in Aerobic Gram-Negative Bacteria
Journal of Chemotherapy, 1998A prospective study was undertaken to observe the emergence of resistance to imipenem, if any, among aerobic gram-negative bacteria. A total of 736 isolates were tested during 1994-95 and less than 1% of them were resistant to imipenem, whereas the next year ('95-'96) the rate increased to 11 of the 903 isolates tested.

Select Gram-negative Aerobic Bacteria
2012Gram-negative bacteria may be rod-shaped (bacilli), spherical (cocci), oval, helical, or filamentous. Cytoplasmic membrane is surrounded by a cell wall consisting of a peptidoglycan layer and an outer cell membrane. Gram-negative bacteria are widely distributed in the natural environment.
