Aerobic Biodegradation of Precoagulated Cheese Whey Wastewater
Prior to the application of an aerobic biological process, cheese whey wastewater has been pretreated by means of a precipitation stage by adding either NaOH or CaOH2. Both precipitating agents reduce roughly 50% of the raw wastewater chemical oxygen demand (COD).

Compostable and Recyclable Baroplastic Triblock Copolymers Enable Low‐Energy Polymer Processing
Baroplastic Poly(L‐lactide)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(L‐lactide) triblock copolymers enable ambient‐temperature processing under moderate pressure, reducing energy demand while preserving polymer integrity. The materials show rapid industrial compostability, effective chemical and physical recyclability, and compatibility with heat ...

ABSTRACT Geochemical data compiled from dried sediments from three water reservoirs at the ancient Maya city of Ucanal, Petén, Guatemala, reveal low to undetectable fecal biomarker concentrations. These low concentrations may be the result of the aerobic decay of sterols combined with well‐managed waste disposal practices.
