Dimethyl Sulfoxide and Sodium Chloride Modulate the Crystal Structure in PMIA to Enhance Dyeing Performance: Molecular Dynamics Simulation and Experimental Investigations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines experiments and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the effects of DMSO/NaCl on the microstructural modulation and dyeing properties of meta‐aramid (PMIA). The findings suggested the effect of DMSO/NaCl disrupts the hydrogen‐bonding network of PMIA, improves the movement of molecular chains, increases the free volume of ...

Sandwich Miura‐Ori Enabled Large Area, Super Resolution Tactile Skin for Human–Machine Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sandwich Miura‐ori based tactile skin achieves large area sensing and super resolution, due to the interactions between different cells. It can also decouple external loads because of the special deformation mechanism. The curved tactile skin can be installed on robotic arms and achieve straightforward control and interactions, showing its great ...

Targeted Delivery of α‐ketoglutarate to Macrophages in Bone: A Novel Therapeutic Strategy for Improving Fracture Healing in Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that glutaminolysis in macrophages is inhibited under type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) conditions, which impedes fracture healing by reducing bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) production through increased cytosine methylation on the promoter.

High‐Performance Polymer‐derived Ceramics in LCD 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the potential of silicon oxycarbide‐based formulations for producing polymer‐derived ceramics with superior properties via LCD 3D printing. VMM‐based ceramics demonstrate a remarkable 50‐fold increase in compressive strength (up to 17 MPa) compared to SPR‐684, along with exceptional high‐temperature survivability (up to 1500 °C ...

A practical application of methodologies to determine asset criticality and work order prioritization

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 4, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
The ability of a company to prioritise work orders is an essential part of managing work which in turn is vital when it comes to delivering maintenance services. The authors have drafted a tutorial paper that outlines a real‐world application of practices which determine asset criticality and work order prioritisation. Abstract The ability of a company

High Strength, Strain, and Resilience of Gold Nanoparticle Reinforced Eutectogels for Multifunctional Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AuNP‐reinforced conductive eutectogels with excellent strength, strain, and resilience are prepared through a novel AuNP synthesis and modification strategy. The high‐performance eutectogel can be used for temperature, NIR, and strain sensors. Moreover, a hierarchical microstructured pressure sensor based on this eutectogel exhibits high sensitivity at
