Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae
A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.

Acceleration of Affine Hybrid Transformations [PDF]
This work addresses the computation of the set of reachable configurations of linear hybrid automata. The approach relies on symbolic state-space exploration, using acceleration in order to speed up the computation and to make it terminate for a broad class of systems. Our contribution is an original method for accelerating the control cycles of linear

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...

Angubindin‐1 binds angulin‐1/‐3 at tricellular tight junctions, enhancing intestinal macromolecule permeation. Alanine scanning identified six essential residues (L562, L598, E638, V640, Y643, and K644) of angubindin‐1 critical for binding to angulin‐1/‐3 and permeation‐enhancing activity, providing insights for the development of targeted noninvasive ...

Sarcosine oxidase from Bacillus sp. (SoxB) recognizes l‐proline (l‐Pro), d‐proline (d‐Pro), and l‐thioproline (l‐Tpr) as minor substrates. In this study, we measured their absorption spectra, determined the crystal structures of their enzyme complexes, and performed site‐directed mutagenesis of key residues.

Pseudo feature point registration of pavement images
Over the last 20 years road pavement imaging has become a routine output from annual pavement assessment survey regimes across the world. Hitherto the traditional use of road pavement images in road condition assessment has been crack detection, rather ...

Adaptive Ranking Based Constraint Handling for Explicitly Constrained Black-Box Optimization
A novel explicit constraint handling technique for the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (CMA-ES) is proposed. The proposed constraint handling exhibits two invariance properties.
