The Tulczyjew triple for classical fields

open access: yes, 2011
The geometrical structure known as the Tulczyjew triple has proved to be very useful in describing mechanical systems, even those with singular Lagrangians or subject to constraints.

ITGAV and SMAD4 influence the progression and clinical outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In SMAD4‐positive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), integrin subunit alpha V (ITGAV) activates latent TGF‐β, which binds to the TGF‐β receptor and phosphorylates SMAD2/3. The activated SMAD2/3 forms a complex with SMAD4, and together they translocate to the nucleus, modulating gene expression to promote proliferation, migration, and invasion. In

Generalized affine transformation monoids on Galois rings

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
Let A be a ring with identity. The generalized affine transformation monoid Gaff(A) is defined as the set of all transformations on A of the form x↦xu+a (for all x∈A), where u,a∈A.

Olaparib synergy screen reveals Exemestane induces replication stress in triple‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Screening 166 FDA‐approved anticancer drugs identifies the aromatase inhibitor Exemestane as a synergistic partner of PARP inhibitor Olaparib in BRCA‐proficient triple‐negative breast cancer. Exemestane induces ROS‐mediated replication stress, enhancing DNA damage and apoptosis alongside Olaparib.

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Center problem for quartic differential systems with an affine invariant straight line of maximal multiplicity

open access: yesActa et Commentationes: Ştiinţe Exacte şi ale Naturii
In this paper the quartic differential systems with a center-focus critical point and non-degenerate infinity are examined. We show that in this family the maximal multiplicity of an affine invariant straight line is six. Modulo the affine transformation

A Robust and Efficient Algorithm for Tool Recognition and Localization for Space Station Robot

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2014
This paper studies a robust target recognition and localization method for a maintenance robot in a space station, and its main goal is to solve the target affine transformation caused by microgravity and the strong reflection and refraction of sunlight ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
