Production and characterization of antibody against aflatoxin M1
Experientia, 1979Antibody against aflatoxin M1 was obtained after immunization of rabbits with bovine serum albumin-afla M1 oxime conjugate. The antibody has greatest binding efficiency for afla M1, and was less efficient for afla B1. Cross-reaction of antibody with aflatoxin Q1, aflatoxicol, and aflatoxin B2a was weak.

Aflatoxin M1 8,9-Epoxide: Preparation and Mutagenic Activity
Chemical Research in Toxicology, 1995Treatment of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) with dimethyldioxirane in an anhydrous mixture of CH2-Cl2 and acetone afforded the corresponding aflatoxin M1 8,9-epoxide (AFM1-E) in practically quantitative yield. This highly reactive intermediate was identified by 1H NMR and characterized by its neat conversion into the corresponding trans-methoxyhydrin derivative 1.

Aflatoxin M1 in milk – An overview
2022Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites produced by fungi of the genus Aspergillus and are toxic even at low doses. There are several different forms of aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2, M1, M2, etc.), but the most toxic and best known is aflatoxin B1 (AFB1).

Aflatoxin B1 metabolism in the rat: Polyhalogenated biphenyl enhanced conversion to aflatoxin M1
Xenobiotica, 1984The effects of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) on the formation in vitro of aflatoxin Q1 and aflatoxin M1 from aflatoxin B1 by rat-liver microsomes were investigated. AFB1 metabolism by hepatic microsomes from PBB- and PCB-treated rats resulted in 16- and 30-fold increases, respectively, in levels of aflatoxin M1 ...

Crystalline Aflatoxin M1 from Urine and Milk
Nature, 1967Allcroft and Carnaghan1 and de Iongh et al.2 reported the appearance in milk of a compound related to aflatoxin B1, and Allcroft et al.3 showed by thin-layer chromatography and ultra-violet studies that a similar factor appeared in the urine of sheep given mixed aflatoxins.

Cancer risks posed by aflatoxin M1.
Princess Takamatsu symposia, 1987The suspect milk-borne carcinogen, aflatoxin M1 (AFM), was produced and isolated from the rice culture of the fungus Aspergillus flavus NRRL3251 for confirmation and determination of the potency of its carcinogenicity in the male adult Fischer rat. The carcinogen was mixed into an agar-based, semisynthetic diet at 0, 0.5, 5, and 50 ppb (microgram/kg ...
