We used whole-tree agarwood-induction technology to produce agarwood from Aquilaria sinensis trees within 20 months, and evaluated the quality of this agarwood. The results showed its characteristics were similar to those of high-grade wild agarwood in terms of texture, chemical constituents, essential oil content, and ethanol-soluble extract content ...

Laxative Effect of Agarwood Leaves and Its Mechanism
Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2008We investigated the laxative activity of an extract of agarwood leaves from Aquilaria sinensis. The laxative activity was measured in mice by counting the stool frequency and stool weight, and the drugs were orally administered. An acetone extract of agarwood leaves and senna (a representative laxative drug) both increased the stool frequency and ...

Classification of Agarwood grades using ANN
International Conference on Electrical, Control and Computer Engineering 2011 (InECCE), 2011Agarwood is an important agricultural product widely used in fragrance industries. It can be found in various parts of ASEAN countries. The price of the Agarwood is determined according to its quality, which is generally decided based on certain grade. This paper proposes an intelligent grading technique for the wood using advanced signal processing of

Three new sesquiterpenoids from agarwood of Aquilaria crassna
Fitoterapia, 2016Three new sesquiterpenoids (1-3), together with two known ones were isolated from the EtOAc extract of agarwood originating from Aquilaria crassna. The new compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic techniques (UV, IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR). Compounds 1-5 were isolated from agarwood of A. crassna for the first time.
