Agave lophantha is described in cultivation. It is an architectural species with prominent sharp teeth on the leaf margins, terminal spines and pale green mid stripes on the leaves. A variegated form named 'Quadricolor' is also described with leaf stripes in three shades of green with a broad yellow to cream margin. The plant forms rosettes up to 60 cm
