Modulation of near-field heat transfer between two gratings

open access: yes, 2011
We present a theoretical study of near-field heat transfer between two uniaxial anisotropic planar structures. We investigate how the distance and relative orientation (with respect to their optical axes) between the objects affect the heat flux.

Imaging of High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: Recommendations From SIOPEN Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Specialty Committees

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumor in early childhood. Its clinical behavior is highly variable, ranging from spontaneous regression to fatal outcome despite intensive treatment. The International Society of Pediatric Oncology Europe Neuroblastoma Group (SIOPEN) Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Specialty Committees ...

A miRNA catalogue and ncRNA annotation of the short-living fish Nothobranchius furzeri

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2017
Background The short-lived fish Nothobranchius furzeri is the shortest-lived vertebrate that can be cultured in captivity and was recently established as a model organism for aging research. Small non-coding RNAs, especially miRNAs, are implicated in age

Can a serious game-based cognitive training attenuate cognitive decline related to Alzheimer’s disease? Protocol for a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesBMC Psychiatry, 2022
Background Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a major public health issue. Cognitive interventions such as computerized cognitive trainings (CCT) are effective in attenuating cognitive decline in AD.

Phase-change radiative thermal diode

open access: yes, 2013
A thermal diode transports heat mainly in one preferential direction rather than in the opposite direction. This behavior is generally due to the non-linear dependence of certain physical properties with respect to the temperature.

Effects of Cancer Treatment on Somatosensory and Nociceptive Processing in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy remains a major complication in pediatric cancer, with disrupted somatosensory and nociceptive processing being a key aspect. This review synthesizes empirical studies on alterations in somatosensory and nociceptive processing in children and adolescents with cancer.

Thermotronics: toward nanocircuits to manage radiative heat flux

open access: yes, 2016
The control of electric currents in solids is at the origin of the modern electronics revolution which has driven our daily life since the second half of 20th century. Surprisingly, to date, there is no thermal analog for a control of heat flux. Here, we
